TERRAIN TEXTURING ISSUES AND RESOLUTION

Textures failing to show up in UE4

 Once I was able to apply the texture after restarting UE i had to remove the tiling of the image.
This was simply fixed by editing the material properties and addition the node 'TEXTURECOORDINATE' and then setting the x & y coordinates to a value of zero.
 Creating more complex materials and removing the tiling was very difficult.  I found that when applying HD textures to the terrain it would cause UE to either lag or crash.
It may be best to create textures in Max first and apply it to geometry in Max before importing to ensure the efficiency and smoothness of the level
